Local Students Invited to Participate in SFL Youth Art Show!
Seneca Free Library is hosting our second Youth Art Show Monday, March 16, through Wednesday, March 18! Entries are due by 1:00 PM, Saturday, March 14.
All students grades 1-12 are eligible to participate. Only original artwork that has not been shown before is allowed. (No past fair exhibitions or past school art contest entries, please.) We are following suggestions for open class art that will be acceptable at the 4-H Fair. Paint-by-number kits and other kits are not considered original works and will not be accepted.
Categories include:
Drawing and Painting in traditional media
3-Dimensional Artwork (including sculpture, ceramics, pottery, metalwork, or woodwork)
Textiles (embroidery, crochet, knitting, and cross stitch, but not quilting samples).
If in doubt, ask if your submission idea fits the criteria before creating it for this exhibition! Guideline sheets with more information are available at the circulation desk.
Artwork will be sorted into one of three age categories: 1-4, 5-8, and 9-12. Artwork will be judged during the exhibition by a panel of judges for Judges’ Choice Awards, and guests to the library can cast their vote for our Patron Favorites Awards!
Prizes will be awarded in each age group for both judging categories. For more information, stop in at the circulation desk or call us at 785-336-2377.
