What You Need to Get a Library Card

Whether you are new to town or a life long resident, if you are ready to open an account at Seneca Free Library here is what we ask you to have with you:

a photo ID and proof of current address, not a post office box number, a physical address. Proof of address could be a utility bill, or an insurance statement with your name included on the label.

Children 9 and up must come in with a parent to open an account.

Your library card also gives you online access to see what you and your children have checked out. If items are not due yet, you are able to renew online. And place holds from home, or anywhere, with our app.

A library card from Seneca Free Library opens an account in NEXT, the Northeast Kansas Library System’s shared catalog. Your card will make available to you items from over 40 collections in northeast Kansas! If you don’t have an account by now, what are you waiting for??

If you lost your card or haven’t been in for a while, we’re here to help remedy that.
